My PB is from there. I caught an 18lb common and it is a perfect fish with no marks at all! apparently the biggest in the lake

Nice one Luke and thanks for the report. Nice to see anglers having a go, the fish will start to feed now and good to see Newton's waters starting to kick off.

Get out there and get some fishing

I would rcommend Charlecombe to anyone wishing to post a new p.b. under the 20lb mark. It has a cracking head of Carp and they always seem really healthy, in good nick, with none of the signs of being caught over and over again you get in other waters. Have a look at the fish in the Newton Gallery to see what I mean via www.newtonfishing.com .Unholymoondog has a cracker on display there.

The secret to fishing Charlecombe is knowing when not to! If you haven't had a bite within two hours you're probably not going to, get yourself up to Spring and try again next time as there are some cracking fish in there including some hard fighting Koi.
