Last weekend was Newton Abbot Fishing Association's Annual Jubilee March on Bradley Pond, with persistent wind and rain making conditions difficult for the participants.
Winner on the day was Jamie Pearce on peg 18 with skimmers on shallow waggler and caster for 7k 200g. Second was John Durham on peg 9 using the same tactics for 4k 980g, and third was junior Liam Dore on peg 24 again catching skimmers on the waggler for 4k 480g.
The penultimate round of the Tackle Trader Evening League was held on Wapperwell, with Rick Johnson recording a comfortable win from peg 18, catching carp and tench on pole and pellet for 13k 100g. Second was Mike Hadley on peg 15 with mainly skimmers on the pole for 7k 400g.
At Rackerhayes Jason Greenfield had a 26lb 8oz carp from Dores Pond on Boilie.Dores has also produced some good mixed bags of tench and bream on pellet or corn on the feeder.
First, Island and Linhay are still consistent for tench to 7lb on caster, maggot or corn with pellet feed. Wheel Pond for bags of carp from 1lb to 4lb on the pole. At Preston Ponds, Key, Sawmills and Eddison all fishing well for skimmers, bream and roach with Sawmills producing carp to 15lb on boillies. Spring Ponds and Charlecombe for carp on corn or pellets.
This Saturday is the Annual "Learn to fish for free" Open day on Rackerhayes with everyone welcome between 10am and 4pm, and Saturday night is the final of the all night series, again at Rackerhayes.
