April 8th Update

The penultimate round of the N.A.F.A Tackle Trader Winter League was fished on Key and Bradley Ponds last Sunday.


The winner on the day was Rick Johnston on Key Pond from peg 15, with a pole and caster caught net of Roach and Bream for 4k 850g. A close second was Paul Gay from the next peg, 17, with a similar net also caught on pole and caster for 4k 700g. Third was John Durham on peg 10 at Bradley with 3k 450g of Skimmers and Roach caught on the waggler and maggot.


The section winner on Key Pond was Jamie Pearce with 2k 950g while on Bradley Max Palmer won the section with 3k 080g.


Just 6 points separate the top 5 anglers going into the final round which will be fished this Sunday on Wheel and Wapperwell Ponds.


Round 5 of the Oakford Junior Winter League was fished on Key Pond last Saturday. Winner was Sam Powell, again from peg 15, with a fine net of Roach & Skimmers caught on the pole and caster for 4k 180g. Second was George Fitter on peg 14 with 2k 890g including a fine Perch of 950g. Third was Elliott Faye on peg 1 with 1k 610g including a nice Tench.

Elsewhere Sawmills is producing Bream to 6lb and the odd Carp. Jamie Pearce fished Wapperwell and took around 30 Carp on waggler and pellet for a bag of 50lb. At Rackerhayes Wheel Pond continues to produce good bags of Carp to 4lb on corn and pellet, odd Carp to 25lb from Dores Pond on boilies, Island, Weedy, First and Linhay have all produced Tench to 6lb plus Roach and Perch. Fish Spring Ponds for Carp to 10lb from all ponds and Charlecombe for Carp to 15lb.
