At Tackle Frenzy we believe in supporting the local South Devon anglers with quality advice on local fishing as well as great value tackle and high quality bait. We also want to offer a challenge to South Devon anglers to expand their angling skills so we have set up the Tackle Frenzy South Devon Angling Challenge – 28 species in 28 days!
The object is to get anglers to challenge themselves, their angling skills but most importantly to step outside of their normal angling habits. This challenge will involve you fishing in areas seldom if ever trodden and you never know, the TFSDAC may just open your eyes to a new side of fishing that you want to experience more often. Don't read this and say "well I'm a sea angler, I don't know how to catch a roach" because that's the point of the challenge. Get out their, fish with people that you may never have met before (we will gladly find partners for you to fish with if you don't know any), make some new friends and enjoy your fishing more as a result. You may only dabble in salt or freshwater once a year during the TFSDAC but at least you will learn a few new skills, it is surprising how many rigs and styles cross over!
The challenge covers both coarse and sea fishing and is set up for teams of up to four anglers to fish together to achieve the challenge. If you need partners to fish with we at Tackle Frenzy will be happy to set you up with anglers. If you are a coarse angler or anglers we strongly suggest pairing off with some sea anglers and visa versa. We do ask that you fish the challenge as a team, any fish caught by an individual fishing away from the team will not be included in the challenge. If this sounds like fun and the sort of challenge that you are up for then call into the Tackle Frenzy shop to pick up your entry form and information pack.

- GET A CERTIFICATE OR BUMPER STICKER CONFIRMING YOUR ANGLING GREATNESS

- Tee shirt each stating that they are fishing for the Tackle Frenzy South Devon Angling Challenge
- £10 Tackle Frenzy voucher for the team to exchange for bait or tackle
- Team membership card confirming that you are fishing in the Tackle Frenzy South Devon Anglers Challenge
- Discount card entitling each team member to a 15% discount in the Tackle Frenzy shop during the 28 days of the challenge
On completing the challenge each angler will also receive a certificate and medal confirming that they have completed the Tackle Frenzy South Devon Anglers Challenge.
The challenge is open to anglers in all TQ postcodes, PL Devon postcodes and EX postcodes up to EX16. I thought it was a great idea and i will put a lot a of hard work into remembering to nag at dad to get it in the papers and to get T-shirts printed.

I would love to take part folks, but i am away most of june with activecarper & pondlife from my forum, if I can be of any other assistance though just say the word
it goes without saying I shall promote you every way possible on rods & reels

my wife told me is was her or carp fishing....................god i'll miss her cooking

Does the species include different strains? i.e. mirror, common, koi and normal and golden rudd? Also I dont understand the 8 4 8 bit! does it mean 8 in 48 hrs? Put me down for it anyway! 14 in 28 for the coarse and 848 for the carp. Jason do you fancy being on my team?

Hi CH, we have just put a Carp Anglers 8-4-8 Challenge together for carp anglers or those anglers that can't work around the 28 in 28 Challenge. This is 8 species (5 carp) for up to 4 anglers in 48 hours
It can be fished in any 48 hour period that you want to set aside, for more info go to www.newtonfishing.co.uk/tfsdac.htm

Yes mate, the Carp Anglers 8-4-8 Challenge include different strains of carp but the Coarse Fishing 8-4-8 Challenge does not have any carp! And yes 8 species - 4 anglers - 48 hours to do it.

The big 28 - 28 challenge has a start date Zulu but the smaller ones you can do whenever. The coarse fishing one you cant really do until the rivers open but you can do it when you want.
